EARTH ELEMENT FORMULA

The Earth element is that season of late summer, or between seasons, which is all about our connection. When we think of earth, we think of our groundedness, our presence to what is. In balance, Earth is content, grounded, present and connected, and it is the foundation for the other elements. It is nourished, both in body, soul and mind, and we are calm and loving, and free, feeling able to support others.
Out of balance, we instead become needy. When we are out of touch with our ever-present connectedness, we drop into the Earth element emotion of worry.

This formula helps balance an excess or deficiency of the characteristics associated with the earth element: physical; material; form; structure; the ability to manifest an idea; practical sense; building; determined; holding on; grounded; anchored; stable; cautious; careful; conservative; steady; consistent; slow but sure; stubborn; obstinate; rigid; obsessed.

Useful for those who have one or more of the following characteristics:
cannot get projects from the idea stage into manifestation
need stability and consistency in their lives
are not grounded, tend to live with their heads in the clouds
need to cultivate a greater consciousness of their physical senses
need to be able to listen to their gut reactions
need determination and the ability to stick to a project or process
have difficulty completing things
don’t want to change
are impatient and rigid
act rashly or too quickly
need to develop common sense

The Earth element, known in Sanskrit as “Prithvi” is the fifth and final great element. It is the final element because it evolves out of all five elements and contains the essence of all. Earth represents the densification of all matter until it becomes solid. Prithvi by its quality is stable, heavy, dry, dense, hard and tangible. When you are feeling ungrounded and unearthed you may feel flighty, chaotic or stuck in your head. According to Ayurveda, Prithvi Mahabhuta provides structural framework for each body parts. It is responsible to make the body strong and steady. Earth element is connected to the sense of smell.
